WELLS

We are just a short 5 minute level walk from the city of Wells.

In the Market place on Saturdays and Wednesdays you will find a fabulous farmers market with all manner of temptations. The magnificent Cathedral, Bishops Palace and Gardens are open to the public. A must is the medieval Vicars Close (a stone's throw from the Cathedral) built around 1360 and said to be the oldest continuously occupied street in Europe.

We have many beautiful countryside walks in and around Wells.

You will find plenty of Gardens you may like to visit.

Just a short walk away is Milton Lodge gardens, giving splendid views over our beautiful city. Or perhaps you would like to venture a little further - you will find Hestercombe Gardens at Cheddon Fitzpaine Taunton, or Lytes Cary Manor Charlton Machell, Somerton and of course the beautiful Bishops Palace gardens and Arboretum.

THE MENDIP HILLS

Nationally protected, the Mendip hills is an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Places of interest such as Cheddar Gorge, an amazing spectacle. You can also visit the Cheddar caves and sample the cheese that has been matured in them.

WOOKEY HOLE

A great day of fun enjoyed by families with children. Go and explore the caves and legendary home of the infamous witch of wookey.

For the energetic, take a climb up to the top of the Tor and enjoy the amazing views across Somerset.

CITY OF BATH

Just 20 miles away by car or bus, Bath and surrounding area is brimming with things to do and see.

Designated as a world heritage sight, Bath has some of the finest examples of architecture including Royal Crescent, the circus, and Putney bridge, alongside a collection of museums and attractions including the Roman Baths, the Jane Austin centre and Thermae Bath Spa.
